Body Contouring Surgeries & Procedures
The forces of nature, whether they be pregnancy, genetics, weight loss or aging, often leave pockets of stubborn fat on our bodies. And no matter how often we exercise or diet, these bulges won't budge. That's where the beauty of body contouring comes in.
Body contouring includes any procedure that reshapes the body. The most common forms of body contouring are liposuction for tummy tucks and lifts to the legs, thighs, chin, neck, buttocks or waist.
Schedule a consultation with one of our surgeons to find out if body contouring is right for you.
Liposuction
Plastic surgeons can safely remove pockets of stubborn fat from virtually any area of the body using liposuction. The most common liposuction surgeries are performed on the abdomen, legs, thighs or buttocks, or on the chin, cheeks, neck or upper arms.
Depending on the area of your surgery, recovery time is anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks. It could take up to 6 months to fully recover from swelling and bruising. To find out if liposuction is right for you, read our patient guide and then schedule a consultation with one of Metropolitan Plastic Surgery's specially trainedplastic surgeons.
Tummy Tuck
A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, flattens the abdomen by removing excess skin and fat to tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall. Tummy tucks can dramatically reduce the size of a stubborn tummy or abdomen bulge.

Thigh, Buttocks and Leg Lifts
After spending months or years losing a significant amount of weight, many people are left with loose, hanging skin. Thigh, buttocks and leg lifts safely remove this excess skin and give patients the confidence to wear their weight loss proudly.

Buttocks Augmentation

Post-Bariatric Plastic Surgery
For severely obese patients who elect bariatric surgery to reduce their stomach size, post-surgery weight loss often results in hanging or sagging skin. The next step for these patients is often a series of body contouring procedures to remove or tighten this excess skin.
Metropolitan Plastic Surgery's specially trained surgeons evaluate each patient's personal needs to craft a post-bariatric body contouring surgical plan. Start with our patient guide or schedule a consultation today to find out if post-bariatric body contouring surgery is right for you.
Spider Vein Treatment
Spider veins, visible clusters of red, blue or purple vessels, are treated with sclerotherapy, a simple treatment to the thighs, legs or ankles that collapses the spider veins causing them to fade from view. The procedure can also relieve spider vein symptoms like aching, burning, swelling and night cramps.
To perform a sclerotherapy, a specially trained plastic surgeon injects sclerosing solution into the affected areas using a tiny needle. Usually after two or more treatments, the spider veins become fainter and fainter. Recovery time is usually less than 24 hours and most patients return to work immediately after the procedure.
